I absolutely believe that people are always going to love hard rock, and I think music definitely goes through phases. If you look back at the last 30 or 40 years, there is one style of music that has maintained throughout everything. You go back to looking at bands like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin and move into Iron Maiden, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera — hard rock has always been there.
But you look back, like where did disco go? Where did new wave go? I think hard rock bands are always going to be there. Sometimes it doesn’t necessarily prevail on the charts, but the question is, in 10 years or 20 years, when our fans are taking their kids to their first concert, are they going to be taking ecstasy and dancing at the electro clubs or are they going to be rocking out at a hard rock show? (Laughs.) I’ll put my money on the hard rock show.
